Alison Toback began studying the viola in 1996, and has studied privately with Jayne Weiner, Fran Fasso, Tony Simmons, and David Yang.  She was accepted into the All South Jersey Orchestra, and attended ASTA Summer String Music Camps for 2 years.  She also has been a member of the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey since 2003, and played for several pit orchestras for musicals including Oliver!, Hello Dolly!, Brigadoon, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Oklahoma!, and Les Miserables.  In college, she performed with the Drexel University Orchestra and the Drexel Quartet, and also played in University of Pennsylvania’s chamber ensembles.  She continues to play with String Theory trio, as well as in local ensembles.

Alison graduated in 2008 with a BS in Biology and is recently graduated with her Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology.  She currently works as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Division of Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, knitting, watching the Food Network, and herding her cats.
